It is possible to pick up a water filtering container at Wal-Mart for about 15 dollars.  Raising the pH of Water, making it Alkaline, can be accomplished by adding a little bit of Baking Soda to it.  I've heard some brands contain Mercury, but not personally found this to be true.  As with anything else, read labels.  If you find any, you will want to avoid that brand of Baking Soda.

The measurement of Baking Soda should be 1 tsp. per 1 Liter of Water.  I usually drink 1.5 liters of water per day, with 1.5 tsp of Baking Soda added to it.

The taste takes some time for people to get used to, but to me, it actually tastes better than without it.
