Magus is Latin for “Mage” or “Practitioner of Magick.” The initiation for the degree of Magus is the learning proper reality control. The individual and his\her reality agree completely. The individual must merge their human and divine selves into one, becoming a channel for pure spiritual force.

In the Kabala, this degree corresponds to Chokmah on the Tree of Life.
In the Egyptian Mystery Tradition, this degree corresponds to Hra Tep, a Master of the Universe. This degree also corresponds to Nes Khet, a Master of Fire.
In Druidism, this degree corresponds to Druid.
On the level of Practical Magick, the individual learns how to control reality, and that the secret is the visualizations, attitude, and thoughts he\she keeps. It is also not uncommon for their presence from this point onward to speed up the Alchemical Transformation of others as well.
