The Second Charm of Making, said to "affect all Matter governed by the Lunar Ray," is actually composed of Welsh words.  The only real problem with it is that it seems to have become bastardized over the centuries, so that the original meaning of the spell has become lost.  Below is my best attempt at restoring the original Mantra or Spell.  I believe its intended purpose is to invoke Mental Clarity and Visions.

The words are given within The 21 Lessons of Merlyn and The Lost Books of Merlyn as follows:

A ELFYNTODD DWYR SYNDDYN DUW

CERRIG YR FFERLURIG NWYN;

OS SYRIAETH ECH SAFFAER TU

FEWR ECHLYN MOR, NECROMBOR LLUN.

One source online translates this as:

"O Elements of Water which lead the God

of rocks that armor hunger if knighthood your Safire

the great side of the axis as dark as the moon."

The author of the translation given above has a negative opinion of Douglas Monroe’s books and appears to have done a quick, poor translation in order to both confuse readers of Mr. Monroe's books and to cast doubt on the metaphysical system taught through the series.

The spell should, most likely, be written as:

A elfin todd Dwr syn dyn Duw

Cerrig Yr Fferru lurig Nwyn;

Os Syrthiad Ach safonol taer tuedd

ffer Echelin Mor, cnec trom bore Llun.

This translates as:

By the element of Water Dissolving Human Fear of God

The Stone Solidifies gas;

If Roots that Fell are quickly accepted by Inclination

as forming the center, to illuminate a picture. (can be read\understood as: ‘to gain an enlightened view‘)

The spell seems to be written in a type of Twilight Language, which can be further interpreted as:

Through the Watery Dissolution of Human Fear of the Divine

The [Philosopher’s] Stone makes manifest the Invisible;

The mind sifts through buried content (fallen roots) to gain an enlightened view.
