1. Life means Suffering.

Living in the world as it exists today, existing in the state most of us have been taught to live while growing up, creates suffering for both ourselves and others.  Sadness, Depression, Frustration, Disappointment and Fear are all forms of suffering.

2. The origin of suffering is Attachment.

Craving and clinging to things that are of an impermanent nature like Fame, Wealth, Popularity, etc. is what creates suffering.

3. The Cessation of suffering is attainable.

Anyone can end their suffering by learning to not be so attached to the things described above.  In fact, there is a Buddhist Meditation called Nerodha Sampatti that was talked about by Aleister Crowley.  It means, “Attainment of Cessation”.  The exercise itself is simply releasing concern\worry about the transient things mentioned in the second Truth.

4. The Path to the cessation of suffering.

The Buddhist path to end suffering is described fully as the Eightfold Path.  A simplified explanation of this Path is that its practices are exercises designed to release the mind from Attachment.
