GATE-WALKING WITH THE NECRONOMICON

The oldest known version of the Necronomicon that I know of names John Dee as the Translator.  The names used are those of Kutulu, Yog-Sothoth and other ancient demons.  The original incantations were used to call upon these forces, with the intention of subjugating them.  However, that approach is extremely dangerous, especially as the Necronomicon does not provide much Protection to its practitioners and, even when proper procedures (as given in the book) are followed, one mistake could cause great harm to the practitioner and those around him or her.

The most popular versions of the Necronomicon have either H.P. Lovecraft's or Simon's name on them.  Whomever did it first is irrelevant, as far as I am concerned.  From what I have seen, they left the Walking Incantations unchanged, other than to use the names of Babylonian Gods and Goddesses in place of the Demons.  However, because none of the other words have been changed and the modern authors did not bother to translate them, the practitioner is calling upon the Darkest, most Destructive aspects of these deities and the work is not being done properly: On one hand, the proper names of the spirits that were intended to be subjugated are suppressed, swapping them for the names of Lighter Deities that were originally intended to Help followers of Babylon and Sumerian Religion. ... And on the other hand, you have Incantations that contain VERY destructive invocations, instead of the ones intended for such deities.

The only safe way to do such "Walking" is either by creating modern Prayers to the Benevolent Gods and Goddesses, or by setting up very strong protection rituals and using the Original (John Dee Version) of the Incantations to evoke the demons to subjugate them.  It is up to the individual which approach they wish to take.  I prefer the former.  The latter is extremely dangerous to the Spiritual, Mental, Emotional and Physical Safety of the Practitioner and those whose lives they touch.
