In these five simple statements, which can serve as personal affirmations, the lifestyle that is the core of Reiki Practice is explained. The "Just for today" means that these should not be things that you "plan to work on incorporating into your life." Instead, they summarize a basic attitude that you should already possess:  Do not allow your mind to become cluttered by fear, anger, greed, deceit, or cruelty.  Freeing the mind of these negative patterns is at the heart of Reiki, and the source of Reiki's healing potential.  In fact, the state of mind that makes Reiki so powerful is identical to the state of of consciousness attained by a Magus, as described in our order.
