I counsel you, Stray-Singer, accept my counsels, they will be your boon if you obey them, they will work your weal if you win them: When you quaff ale, call upon the might of earth -- For it is earth that drinks in the floods.  Earth prevails over drink, but fire over sickness, the oak over binding, corn over witchcraft, the rye spur over rupture, the moon over rages, herb over cattle plagues, runes over harm. 

Following this advice will help you fulfill your desires: Being firm of mind helps guard against drunkenness.  Possessing a high level of spiritual energy will keep sickness away.  Laws based on Truth can hold people under their influence.  Corn can be used to guard against curses.  Food can be offered to heal friendship.  Taking into account the effects the moon has on people will help you get along better with them.  Herbs can be used to heal animals and Runes can be used to protect from harm of any kind: spiritual or physical.
