21 Give heed to him and hearken to his voice, do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression; for my name is in him.

Once this influence manifests, you are instructed to always trust it, and not rebel against it.  For to rebel against this angel is to rebel against God.

22 "But if you hearken attentively to his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.

However, if you trust this influence and let it guide you, God will protect you from all your enemies and destroy them.  Enemies in this case are all influences which attempt to come between you and God – all influences which prevent you from experiencing spiritual bliss and peace of mind.  While this primarily means mental and spiritual forces, it can at times expand to include other people, if those people actively seek to interfere with your spiritual work.

23 "When my angel goes before you, and brings you in to the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Per'izzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jeb'usites, and I blot them out,

Amorites are thoughts of sexual reproduction.  Hittites are thoughts that fear and oppose Spirit.  Perizzites are the spiritual senses.  Canaanites are the urges of the body.  Hivites are the physical and carnal qualities in the individual.  Jebusites represent the spiritual consciousness in the state of being subjected to the material and carnal thoughts, beliefs, and desires.  Blotting all of these out means that the individual will experience peace of mind and bliss in place of these influences, and the mind will be free.

24 you shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works, but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their pillars in pieces.

Bowing down to their gods means allowing their influence to corrupt your consciousness.  You must actively work against them and seek conscious union with God.  Breaking their pillars to pieces means destroying their foundations.

25 You shall serve YHVH your God, and I will bless your bread and your water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of you.

The most direct manifestation of these practices is a state of perfect health.  That is what these practices create, and is but one of many manifestations of someone who has achieved conscious union with God, or “found Christ”.

26 None shall cast her young or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.

No one in this state of consciousness will abandon their purity (symbolized here by their “young”) or lack creativity.  This new state of consciousness will be eternal as long as you keep up the work that brought it about.

27 I will send my terror before you, and will throw into confusion all the people against whom you shall come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

On the physical level, only those that understand the spiritual work you are doing will understand what is going on in your life.  No one else will.  On the mental and spiritual level, no forces that would interfere with this new consciousness will be able to remain within your mind.

28 And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out Hivite, Canaanite, and Hittite from before you.

The hornets symbolize the purifying spiritual energies that are brought into (or invoked) your consciousness by your spiritual work.  These energies drive from your mind the carnal patterns, physical urges, and the fear of God.

29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against you.

These influences that were corrupting you will be removed swiftly so that they do not exhaust your spiritual energy and entangle your consciousness again.  The wild beasts that would multiply against you if this were not done are the same influences that we just spoke of that would be driven away by your spiritual work (carnal patterns, physical urges, and fear of God.)

30 Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you are increased and possess the land.

This will not happen all at once, but will happen gradually until this spiritual consciousness is the only consciousness you manifest in the world.

31 And I will set your bounds from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the Euphra'tes; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.

The Red Sea symbolizes the subconscious mind.  The sea of the Philistines symbolizes all the trials and tribulations you will be delivered from by doing this work.  The region from the wilderness to the Euphrates symbolizes the whole mind, from the external world to the inner mind.  All influences that corrupt these regions will be removed from your path.  These influences that will be removed are both internal and external.

32 You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods.

The key to this process though, is that you must not allow yourself to become subject to their influence.  Don’t allow yourself to become subject to fear, carnal urges, or bodily urges.

33 They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me; for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you."

Becoming entrenched again in these influences is a sin against God, in that it interferes with your conscious connection with God.
