Astrological Wand Symbolism Explained

ASTROLOGICAL WAND SYMBOLISM AND NATURE

The symbolism of the Astrological Wand contains 3 main Hermetic ideas:  

First, the color White, representing Spirit or the Divine, also undercoats the entire Wand.  The Divine Spirit is the basis for everything, even physical Matter, which is represented by the Black end of the wand.

Second, the color spectrum, through Astrology, represents the entire human psyche, and exists between the Black and White ends.  The symbolism here is that the human psyche connects Spirit and Matter and is the intermediary between them.

Third, the number of Black lines is 13, the number of Unity according to Gematria.  As such, it also represents a link to God, the ultimate, unitary, Divine Mind.
