Just as the Magickal\Religious System of the Bible revolves around the names of the God of the Hebrews and those of the Quran revolve around the names of Allah, so does the Necronomicon and it's system of magick revolve around the names of Marduk.
Marduk himself is a deity that brings Order. In the Babylonian story of Creation, it was taught that he created the world from the Flesh of Tiamat, the personification of Primordial Chaos. This story, itself, reflects Marduk's main position as being a force that brings order to things.
So, the religious and magickal rituals of Babylonian Magick are about bringing order to things. This can be your physical environment, your psyche or, more commonly, both.
