Neophyte

Neophyte means “New” in Latin. This degree is marked by the individual taking an interest in Metaphysics\Magick as taught by our order, but not yet actively practicing it on a regular basis. The first thing a Neophyte must do is pick a system that we teach. They are then to begin the LBRP or it’s equivalent if one exists within the system of choice. The individual is also to begin studying the doctrine that they have chosen.

Kabalistically, the level of development at this stage is not located on the Tree of Life, but just below it. People at this level of consciousness express an interest in spirituality and the Divine, but do not have much practical experience or knowledge about it.

The work at this level of consciousness is to pick a spiritual path toward the divine and start the work of that path.

In the Hermetic Kabala, the ritual that begins the path toward the Divine is the LBRP. Also do this if you are working with the Islamic religion.

In Rune Magick, the ritual that begins the path toward the Divine is the Ritual of the Guardian Elks.

If you are working with Scientology\Dianetics, you should begin studying it and seek Dianetic Therapy through either your own work or find an "auditor" that can help you.

If you are a Vampire, you should try to figure out what type of energy you need and how to get it, regularly, without harming others.

If you are working with Luciferianism, it might be in your interest to also work with something like Dianetics, in addition to Meditation. Neither practice is restrictive or demanding, and both can be practiced without insult to your Religious Path.

If you are working with Vodou, you should learn to Meditate, as doing this regularly will aid you in becoming more conscious of God and working with the Loa and the Ancestors. You might also pick up decent book on Vodou or find a Mambo or Houngan to guide you.

If you are working with the Necronomicon, you should begin practicing the Ritual of the Arra Star.
