5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

Then the spiritual self is able to open the seals on each of the spiritual chakras of the body. Edgar Cayce states that the book with the seven seals is the human body.

5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

The angel represents the spiritual consciousness or “Higher Self.”  The question implies looking for places for the spiritual consciousness to begin to surface within the individual.  The spiritual self tries to surface early on during spiritual transformation.

5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

Man, in this prophecy, represents the lower part of human nature.  It is the animal nature in each of us.  This part cannot expand the chakras.  This part cannot redeem us.

5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

Without this expansion of consciousness, the individual is stuck in the mental and emotional state of suffering.  This suffering is symbolized by the weeping.

5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

The only part of us that is truly worthy to do this is that part that has crucified self-centered desire sufficiently to allow Divine Will to fully enter. This one is identified in the Revelation as “the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root and offspring of David,” all terms associated with the Messiah, only this is the little messiah within each of us; our spiritual self reborn, created by Divine Mind and sent to redeem our physical selves. This self has made its will so subordinate to Divine Mind that it is represented as a lamb. It is in the spirit of the Lamb of the gods that we may safely open the seals of the spiritual centers of our bodies.

The little messiah is the Higher Self within the individual.  That is, the purified part of the soul.

5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of my god sent forth into all the earth.

The required characteristics to be a Messiah (a savior to oneself and a guide for others) are: Being Spiritually Enlightened\Aware, having Freedom of Thought, Happiness & Faith in Spirituality, Self-Confidence, Spiritual Thoughts, True Self Knowledge and Inner Peace.  These are represented as the Seven Horns of the Lamb of the gods.  The Seven Eyes represent the purified seven chakras, which are centers of spiritual power and perception.  Together, the eyes and the horns are the Seven Spirits of the gods that are part of every spiritually enlightened person (such people are called by the title Messiah).

5:7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

Taking the book means acknowledging one’s spiritual nature.

5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.

The Four beasts worshiping the Lamb represented the transmuted aspects of the lower nature.  Transmuted, they represent being faithful to the First Love (the Divine), Faith\Courage, Inner Peace and discovering your Spiritual Purpose\True Will.  The four and twenty elders represent the cranial nerves within the brain. These, when energized by the mind, empower the spiritual facilities within each of us.

5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to gods by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

5:10 And hast made us unto our gods, kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Being spiritually aware gives one the ability to be a true priest and take charge of your own life.  All the facilities of consciousness now serve to empower the enlightened individual.

5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.

The Lamb, ultimately, represents the Self.  Through self-transformation, the individual becomes their own Savior.  The process by which this occurs is the subject of this entire book.

5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

All aspects of one’s Being serve the newly awakened Self.  These aspects of Being are represented by the creatures in heaven, on the earth, etc.

5:14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped him that liveth for ever and ever.

The four beasts and the twenty-four elders worshiping represent the aspects of Being previously mentioned constantly acknowledging the Spiritually Awakened Individual as being the source of their power and life.  These serve the Awakened Individual.
