6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

The higher self, in the form and spirit of the Lamb of the Gods, opens the seals of the body.

This happens naturally: As the spiritual practices continue, the spiritual self begins to manifest more and more prominently within the consciousness of the individual, opening the chakras.  Attention is now focused on the Root Chakra.  This chakra encompasses the ground above and below the part of your body that touches it.

6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

The first horseman is riding a white horse, wearing a crown, and carrying a bow. His mission is to conquer the negative influences and win Root Chakra for the spiritual self.

The personal foundation needs to be established as Spirit, not material things.

6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

The Higher\Spiritual Self now focuses attention on the Sacral Chakra, located in the region of the sex organs.

6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

The Spirit cannot allow us to be terrestrial, earthly beings forever. We must be forced to seek the Spirit, even if it means war.  In this case, the war is with the material, selfish desires.  Sex and pleasure are fine, but should not be allowed to dominate and suppress the spiritual consciousness.

6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of scales in his hand.

Attention is now focused on the Third or Power Chakra.  This is the seat of the Will.

6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

His mission is to measure out limited portions to the earth, allowing more room for spiritual influences. But he is instructed not to harm the oil and the wine, symbolic of those things that are only gained through experiences that squeeze the deeper essences out of life and grow wiser with age.  The Will must be trained to focus more on the spiritual, but still acknowledge the deeper essences of everything and the experience acquired through Life.

6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

Attention is now focused on the Fourth or Heart Chakra.  This is the seat of Love and Compassion in Consciousness.

6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

The power of Death in the Heart Chakra is to destroy the Heart’s desire to cling to things that are purely physical in nature and those that impede spiritual progress. The Heart has a tendency to form attachments to things that are simply not good for the Soul.  These emotional attachments must be destroyed.

6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of the gods, and for the testimony which they held:

Attention is now focused on the Fifth or Throat Chakra.  This is the seat of the connection between the Spiritual facilities and the physical body, the Imagination.

6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord God, holy God of Truth, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

The reappearance\resurrection of the slain souls symbolize the dawning spiritual consciousness within the individual. The souls crying out are symbolic of the thoughts of the individual at this stage of spiritual transformation.  Their questioning about their revenge symbolizes the yearning the individual feels at this stage for complete enlightenment and inner peace.  This is what the mind of the individual is generally like at this stage.

6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

The white robes symbolize the spiritual purity of the soul, which is continuing to grow more dominant within the individual.

6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Attention is now focused on the Sixth Chakra or Third Eye.  This is the seat of spiritual perception. The darkening skies and the stars falling are all symbolic of the beginning of the end of the materialistic, lower nature of the individual.  As the spiritual nature grows more prominent and powerful within the consciousness, so the materialistic nature decreases.

6:14 And the heavens departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

The mountains and islands moving out of their places and the heavens departing are all symbolic of the confusion that is felt by the individual during this stage of enlightenment (or Spiritual Transformation).

6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The “great people” of the earth hiding are symbolic of the lower nature retreating to make way for the spiritual nature\Higher Self.  This happens within every person as part of the process of spiritual awakening.
