7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
The Four angels at the corners of the earth symbolize the foundation for the spiritual consciousness. Their holding back the winds of the earth means that, at this stage of enlightenment, the lower nature is no longer being nurtured and fed by the Consciousness.
7:2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living god: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our god in their foreheads.
The angel ascending from the East is the spiritual part of our consciousness, the Messiah. It preserves the spiritual, enlightened nature of the individual.
7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
The 144,000 (12 times 12) symbolize the human psyche in its entirety. Their being sealed with the seal of God symbolizes the process of spiritual purification being performed on the individual through the use of the Third Eye and spiritual powers it contains.
7:5 Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
The number Twelve signifies Governmental Perfection, while the number One Thousand signifies Divine Completeness and the Glory of the Father. Thus, each of the Twelve Thousand from each tribe signify the perfected\spiritualized parts of the corresponding aspect of Consciousness:
The tribe of Judah signifies Prayer and the gathering of Spiritual Energy. Reuben signifies Spiritual Perception. Gad signifies Spiritual Power.
7:6 Of the tribe of Asher were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
Asher signifies Understanding. Naphthali signifies Strength of Character. Manasses is the power to reject and destroy those things within us that are not in harmony with our Spirit.
7:7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
Simeon symbolizes Receptivity. This is the state of mind needed in order to be taught. Levi signifies Love. This is Love for the Divine, our neighbors, all of Creation and ourselves. Issachar signifies Zeal. This is the drive to perform Spiritual Purification (or Spiritual Work of any kind).
7:8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
Zebulun signifies Order. We must be able to organize our thoughts and feelings to be able to do this work. Joseph is the Imagination. This is both the power to Create and to Destroy, using the Mind. It is also, as its name implies, the mind’s image making ability. Without this, the individual is unable to see anything spiritually. Benjamin signifies Faith, not only in the Divine, but in ourselves as spiritual beings.
7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our god which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
The 144,000 symbolize the spiritual faculties of the psyche in full service of the Higher Self.
7:11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped gods,
7:12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our god for ever and ever. Amen.
The angels symbolize spiritual thoughts and ideas. These empower the Higher Self, symbolized here by their worship of the Lamb.
7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Here it is revealed that the robes were made white through being washed by the thoughts. On a larger scale, this is pointing out that each individual must do their own work to spiritually cleanse themselves, not expect a third party to do it for them.
7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of the gods, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
The thoughts that have become spiritual\pure have the right to be before the Divine at all times. Only those thoughts have this right. On a larger scale, it is only the individuals that do their own spiritual purification work that can truly claim to be “saved”.
7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
The individuals no longer being hungry, thirsty, etc. means that the mind is no longer focused on the Physical. The thoughts are focused on the Eternal Spirit.
7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and gods shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
The spiritual consciousness\Messiah constantly empowers these thoughts, so they have need of nothing else.
