Simulatius- Simulatius is based on a Latin word meaning, “pretentious”.  It corresponds to a state of mind that is not truthful. Beliefs held by the individual at this stage of consciousness are false.  Though individuals at this level of consciousness will often be just as adamant about those beliefs as those at Practicus, it’s opposite.  Also, the emotions are uncontrolled, the mind is often restless, and the life of the individual is often filled with obstacles of one sort or another.

On the Tree of Death, this level of consciousness corresponds to the Qlippoth called the Shadow of Death.  It is ruled by a demon called Samael.  Samael is the embodiment of all the false beliefs in the mind.  These are beliefs that are not in accord with the Hermetic Truths.

To rise to the next degree, (Incuriousus) the individual must first acknowledge that there is a problem with their beliefs.  Often this occurs when the individual learns that their beliefs are responsible for the path their life has taken, which at this level of consciousness, is not usually positive. Should this not occur, the individual is in danger of falling further, to the next degree of darkness, Plumbeus.

This degree is the exact opposite of Practicus.
